More than 100 pairs of signed trainers owned by Eminem are going up for auction.
Julien’s Auctions will next month host the Marshall Mathers Foundation Auction – which includes trainers from the rapper’s personal collection.
The line-up includes rare Jordan x Eminem collaborations and other notable brands, with each pair personally signed by Eminem.
This auction also marks the largest single-sale collection of Eminem material ever offered at public auction.
All proceeds will also benefit the Marshall Mathers Foundation.
The auction’s footwear highlights span more than 20 years of Eminem’s relationships with Nike, Jordan, Carhartt, Puma and Adidas, which the auction house has said offers collectors an “unprecedented chance to acquire some of the rarest pieces in sneaker history”.
Every lot is hand-signed by Eminem – real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III – and accompanied by its original box, which Julien’s has said is a “rare combination that adds both authenticity and collector value”.
Some of the highlights include a pair of Eminem x Nike Air Jordan 3 Slim Shady PE trainers, which are expected to sell for 25,000 to 35,000 US dollars (£18,000-£26,000), a pair of Eminem x Carhartt x Nike Air Jordan 4s and a pair of Eminem x Nike Air Jordan 4 Encores from 2017, which are also both expected to go for up to 25,000 dollars.
Other notable trainers in the auction are a pair of stage-worn Nike Air Max 90 Soundstorms, Nike Air Max 90 Japan SP Camos and Adidas Superstar 1 trainers with their original box.
Those are each expected to sell for up to 12,000 dollars (£9,000), 3,000 dollars (£2,000) and 1,200 dollars (£901).
Shady Records president and chief executive of Goliath Artists Paul Rosenberg, who is Eminem’s manager, said: “Marshall has always expressed his personal style through his sneakers and he has amassed quite a collection throughout the years.
“We are excited to offer an opportunity to own a piece of his personal collection – including some grails – while supporting the cause that is so meaningful to him.”
Over the course of his career, Eminem has sold more than 164 million albums, won 15 Grammy Awards and an Academy Award.
Formed in 2002, the Marshall Mathers Foundation supports disadvantaged and at-risk youth in his home city of Detroit, Michigan, and other surrounding communities.
The Marshall Mathers Foundation Auction will be held live and online on August 25.
