The presenter, 66, told A-level students not to worry if they do not get the results they want because he got a C and two Us (Ungraded).

Jeremy Clarkson has told A-level students not to worry if they do not get the results they want because he got a C and two Us (Ungraded).

As students across the country opened their results on Thursday, Clarkson, 66, reminded them their results will not define their future, citing his own career success as proof.

He wrote on X: “Don’t worry if your A level results are a bit disappointing. I got a C and two Us.

“And this evening I shall sit in my agreeable garden, drinking beer from my own brewery and eating food from my own farm. Prepared by my own chef.”

The Top Gear star has posted on X (formerly Twitter) on A-level results day every year since 2014 to inspire those who do not get the results they want.

Last year, he wrote: “If your A level results are disappointing, don’t worry. I got a C and two Us and here I am today, installing lights for a helicopter landing pad in my garden.”

Clarkson began his media career as a local newspaper journalist, later forming the Motoring Press Agency in 1984 with fellow motoring journalist Jonathan Gill.

He began presenting Top Gear in 1988 and later hosted the first series of Robot Wars.

More recently, he starred on the Prime Video motoring series The Grand Tour with Richard Hammond, James May and Andy Wilman after they left Top Gear.

His current show Clarkson’s Farm, also on Prime Video, documents the goings on at the presenter’s 1,000-acre farm in West Oxfordshire.

Earlier this year he revealed he had been diagnosed with “aggressive” prostate cancer, which had been discovered early, during an episode of the show.

In a subsequent interview with The Sunday Times, Clarkson said that a PSA test in April revealed no indication of cancer and he is in remission.
