William and Kate, who hold the title of Duke and Duchess of Rothesay while in Scotland, will visit their namesake town of Rothesay during the visit.
The royal couple visited the islands of Iona and Mull in the Inner Hebrides last year.
On Bute, they will spend time with members of the local community and speak to those helping to protect the environment on the island.
The Duke and Duchess will visit Bute Shinty Club in Rothesay, where the traditional sport of shinty has been played for generations.
Shinty is played with a curved wooden stick and a leather ball. The island has hosted the Buteman Cup since 1900.
William and Kate are expected to meet representatives from the club’s senior and youth teams before spending time with volunteers and former players in the clubhouse.
The Duke and Duchess, along with their three children, were recently at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire along with the King and Queen.
The royal family attended a church service at Crathie Kirk, which is opposite the Balmoral estate, at the end of August.
