The family of Kim Borthwick, 36, from Glasgow, announced on Tuesday night she had ‘slipped away peacefully’.
A mother-of-two who had an incurable brain tumour has died nine months after her diagnosis.
Kim Borthwick, from Glasgow, was diagnosed with the tumour on January 18, a week after experiencing symptoms.
Her family announced on Tuesday night that she had died, aged 36.
She is survived by her twin sons Max and Freddie and her husband, Ross.
She had previously spoken publicly about her condition and joined the Brain Cancer Justice campaign group, which is urging politicians to provide greater support and funding for rare cancers.
Ms Borthwick was diagnosed with glioblastoma after experiencing headaches over the festive period, initially believing she had exhausted herself amid the festivities.
A statement posted on her Instagram account on Tuesday said: “On behalf of Kim’s family it is with a heavy heart that we share of her passing.
“Kim slipped away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was her brave, fighting self right to the very end.
“Kim meant so much to so many people and she will be forever missed.
“We wish to thank you all for the incredible support you’ve shown over the past eight months. It meant the world to Kim, and to us.”
